German modern metalcore force MAVIS have unveiled “Safe Place,” their latest official video and another chapter in the band's ongoing evolution. Formed in Stuttgart in 2019, MAVIS have built their identity around the collision of raw emotion and destructive heaviness, combining massive riffs, cinematic synths, powerful vocals, emotional hooks and crushing breakdowns. Their official biography describes a sound that remains rooted in modern metalcore while deliberately pushing beyond its conventional boundaries.
At the heart of MAVIS' songwriting is an emphasis on emotional weight. Vocalist Phil Donay explores themes including self-confidence, tolerance, trust, love, disappointment, doubt and inner conflict, while the instrumental side of the band balances hard-hitting riffs with atmospheric and cinematic elements. “Safe Place” arrives within that established framework, giving MAVIS another opportunity to combine their melodic instincts with the sheer physical force that has become central to their sound.
The new release follows a period of continued development for the Stuttgart formation. After their debut album Grief Is No Ally, MAVIS expanded their catalogue with the The Great Attractor EP in 2025, preceded by singles including “DNA” and “Sentinel Hill.” Their work with Arising Empire has further established the band within the contemporary German metalcore landscape, with the label highlighting their combination of emotional urgency, massive riffs, powerful vocals and cinematic scale.
With “Safe Place,” MAVIS continue to push their modern metalcore vision forward without losing the emotional core that has shaped the band since their formation. The new official video adds another visual chapter to their growing catalogue, while the music delivers the familiar contrast of melody, atmosphere and uncompromising heaviness that defines MAVIS.
