Auckland/Hamilton-based melodic hardcore outfit AMANAKI have dropped their latest official music video for the second single, Victims, taken from their upcoming EP Vices. Formed in 2018, the five-piece have become a mainstay of the modern New Zealand hardcore scene, consistently delivering music that blends stabbing melodies with in-your-face breakdowns and traditional hardcore ethos.
Victims sees AMANAKI ramp up the intensity and sharpen their focus. The track captures the band in full motion — aggressive riffing meets soaring hooks, and the rhythm section pummels the moment into being. Thematically, the song interrogates power, betrayal and the cost of silence, layering urgency over emotion as the band continue their fierce evolution.
In the video for Victims, AMANAKI present a visual counterpart to their sonic assault — stark lighting, relentless performance footage and symbolic imagery all combine to dramatise the song’s narrative. The band’s energy is raw and unfiltered, giving the viewer no choice but to bear witness to the catharsis being unleashed.
With Victims leading into the upcoming Vices EP, AMANAKI reaffirm their status as one of New Zealand’s most compelling modern hardcore bands. The release marks a major step in their trajectory — dynamic, charged and absolutely uncompromising. Get ready — AMANAKI are poised to take the next leap.
