Australian deathcore outfit BODY PRISON have unleashed “Jesus Wept,” a savage new single featuring Dane Evans of fellow Australian heavyweights TO THE GRAVE. The track arrives alongside an official music video and marks the band’s first release with Greyscale Records, opening a new chapter for a four-piece built around uncompromising brutality, cavernous vocals and bone-breaking riffs. Evans’ guest appearance adds another vicious layer to an already punishing track, bringing together two forces from Australia’s increasingly ferocious deathcore scene.
“Jesus Wept” also serves as the second track revealed from BODY PRISON’s upcoming EP A Waste Of Good Suffering, which is set for release on November 20 through Greyscale Records. The six-track release will feature “Here We Go Again,” “Jesus Wept” featuring Dane Evans, “Judas Cradle,” “Excess In Avarice,” “Blister Face” and “Ironclad,” promising a concentrated dose of the band’s violent and visceral approach to modern extreme music.
The collaboration with Evans is particularly fitting, placing his unmistakable vocal attack alongside BODY PRISON’s Daniel Macdonald. With Frankie Demuru on drums, NJ VanVidler on bass and newest member Eli Micallef making his recorded debut with the band on “Jesus Wept,” BODY PRISON are sharpening their identity around relentless mayhem, massive breakdowns and the grotesque vocal textures that define their sound.
With Greyscale Records now behind them and A Waste Of Good Suffering approaching, BODY PRISON are stepping into their next era with absolutely no intention of softening the impact. “Jesus Wept” is a brutal introduction to what comes next, and with Dane Evans joining the assault, the Australian deathcore scene has another collaboration built to leave a serious mark.
