Bristol six-piece KNIVES return with new single "VERMILLION" and confirm details of their second album, "NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN", due for release on 5 March 2027 via Marshall Records.
The first new music to emerge from the album, "VERMILLION" arrives ahead of a huge few months for the band. Following the release of 2025's "GLITTER" and a relentless run of touring that has seen them share stages with The Callous Daoboys, Bob Vylan, The Armed and Maruja, KNIVES will head back out on the road this October as special guests on Cancer Bats' UK "Made of Loud Tour".
At the heart of "VERMILLION" is a question: when all is said and done, can you stand by the choices you've made? It's a theme that runs through much of "NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN", a record shaped by long stretches on the road, late-night conversations and the uncertainty that comes with trying to make sense of the world around you. While "GLITTER" captured a band introducing themselves, its follow-up finds KNIVES digging deeper, turning their attention to climate anxiety, grief, consumerism, media influence and the consequences of our actions, both personal and collective.
Speaking about the single, the band say: "'VERMILLION' is centred around the idea of consequence. It's about trying to live in a way that reflects your values, knowing that every decision you make affects not only yourself but the people around you. The song asks whether the things we leave behind are something we can truly be proud of."
"VERMILLION" marks the beginning of the road towards "NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN". Before the album arrives on 5 March 2027, KNIVES will spend October touring the UK with Cancer Bats as part of the 'Made of Loud Tour'.
