RUMOURS - Unveil "Incredulous" Ahead of East Coast Australian Single Launch Tour!

Melbourne-based alternative rock five-piece Rumours released "Paralysed" earlier in the year and sparked excitement nationwide for the new direction. Since this, the band have knuckled down, introduced a fifth member and created an even bigger track that soars mighty high with the brand new single "Incredulous". "Incredulous" is out today and will be launched on a headline tour beginning next Thursday 19th September that will take the single to audiences in Newcastle , Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. Tickets available here!

"Incredulous" builds on the hype that "Paralysed" earned Rumours, with over 138,000 streams on Spotify since March, plays on triple j's Home & Hosed and Short. Fast. Loud. and rotation on triple j Unearthed radio.

"Incredulous" is produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Lalic (Windwaker, To Octavia) and begins with a deep sound that welcomes an introduction not unlike Ocean Grove before settling into its pop/rock roots with a grungy edge. The chorus kicks in and soars to great heights, where the song mostly remains throughout the track. While the song itself is ultimately broad and open to interpretation, the track vaguely tackles an extra-terrestrial theme from the perspective of society's ignorance and inability to accept change, even when the evidence is obvious and there is proof of the contrary. Vocalist Jackson Bentley explains that, "the song is basically about if you were to find yourself in another world surrounded by alien life, or a different form of living being, how many people would still disbelieve in what stood before them?"

The single comes complete with a music video produced and directed by one of heavy music's most in-demand videographer's at the moment, Colin Jeffs (Windwaker, Dealer, The Brave, The Beautiful Monument). The video compliments the music in the way the film starts with a blank canvas before the music unravels with the clip, leading to chaotic bursts of colour and creative mess. Bentley says that the band wanted the film clip to be captivating, so in turn, the video became "a celebration of music, dance, abstract art, makeup and colour. And it all combines into this 4-minute film, for what I think is the coolest video we have made!"

In celebration of the release of "Incredulous", Rumours will head out on a headline tour with Sydney's Inertia to play Newcastle's Hamilton Station Hotel on Thursday September 19 alongside PSTCRDS and Everleigh, Sydney's Oxford Art Gallery on Friday September 20 with Artisan and Kaskeid, Canberra's The Basement on Saturday September 21 with Hostel and Strones Throw and finally Melbourne's Workers Club with To Octavia, Vatic and Days Like These.

Rumours is Jackson Bentley (vocals) Harry Coote (guitar) Reece Philpot (drums), Benjamin Canham (guitar) and Dustin Bayley (bass). The band formed in Wagga Wagga in 2016 and previous to "Paralysed", have released their debut EP 'Lost Together' and toured extensively throughout Australia winning over their audiences. Rumours has played shows alongside heavyweight Australian acts including Northlane, In Hearts Wake, Dream on Dreamer, Polaris, Windwaker, Reside and Make Them Suffer as well as playing support to international acts to the likes of The Plot In You. The release of "Paralysed" in early 2019 brought media attention internationally, radio play worldwide and has ensured their audience is hungry for this next release!

"Incredulous" is out now on all digital platforms and streaming outlets. Tickets for the "Incredulous" tour can be purchased from https://linktr.ee/rumours_au!
