Italian modern metal band SECRET RULE returns with their new single “Trip Into My Hell”. Taken from their upcoming eleventh studio album, “Someone Killed the Pope,” being released via Rockshots Records on February 5th, 2027. The track explores a more rock-oriented direction and is accompanied by an official music video filmed during the band's recent European tour with Xandria and Seven Spires.
Following the heavier arrangements and electronic elements of their previous singles, “Trip Into My Hell” brings punchy guitar riffs, a driving rhythm section, and Angela Di Vincenzo's powerful melodic vocals to the forefront. With its infectious chorus and stripped-back production, the song delivers an immediate impact while retaining the melodic identity that defines Secret Rule's sound.
Angela Di Vincenzo comments:
“We played this song every night on the European tour before it was even released, and seeing people immediately react to it was amazing. They didn't know the song, but by the end they were already jumping with us. We loved that energy so much that we decided to capture it during the tour and make it part of the official video for the song. I think it's the perfect way to show what ‘Trip Into My Hell’ is really about: something direct, spontaneous and made to be experienced live.”
Lyrically, “Trip Into My Hell” explores the determination to confront personal struggles rather than avoid them. Images of fire, smoke, and collapsing roads portray a journey through uncertainty and pain, where moving forward means accepting the challenges ahead instead of searching for an escape.
Angela adds:
“The ‘hell’ in the song is obviously personal. It's that place or situation you know is going to hurt, but sometimes the only choice you have is to go through it. There's something almost liberating in reaching the point where you stop looking for a way around it and just say: okay, I'm going in.”
Guitarist and producer Andy Menario explains:
“We wanted this track to be very straightforward. No unnecessary layers, just a strong guitar riff, a solid groove and a chorus that hits immediately. It has a much more rock-oriented approach than some of the other songs on the album and hearing it work so naturally in front of a live audience confirmed that we had captured exactly the kind of energy we wanted.”
“Trip Into My Hell” offers a further preview of “Someone Killed the Pope”, Secret Rule's eleventh studio album, due for release on February 5th 2027. The record brings together different facets of the band's musical identity, reflecting their continued evolution within modern metal.
