Bristol-based nu-metalcore trio COBER MOUTH are back with “The Drain,” a new single arriving November 6, 2026. Formed in 2023 by Cornish-born lifelong friends Adam and Dylan, the band have wasted little time making their presence felt within the UK heavy music scene. Combining uncompromising heaviness with a confrontational attitude, COBER MOUTH have quickly attracted attention from BBC Radio 1, Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Spotify, and Apple Music. Following the release of previous singles “Get A Grip” and “Cesspit,” the trio now return with their most challenging statement yet, turning their attention towards consumerism, social expectations, and the structures that shape modern Western life.
At its core, “The Drain” questions the foundations of a society built around consumption and conformity. Rather than accepting the responsibilities and expectations imposed by modern life, the track challenges listeners to consider what freedom would look like without those restrictions. It raises an uncomfortable question: what would happen if everyone simply walked away from the system at once?
Adam explains the thinking behind the single, describing it as a challenge to the way people perceive the world and their place within it. Drawing inspiration from the ongoing cultural rejection of consumerism, the track pushes that idea further, questioning how much longer humanity will continue accepting a system that demands constant participation.
Musically, “The Drain” takes COBER MOUTH into their most downtuned and sonically disgusting territory to date. Its uncompromising approach reflects the frustration and rebellious spirit behind the track's central message, delivering a sound that refuses to play by the rules.
Since emerging in 2023, COBER MOUTH have built an impressive live reputation, drawing 15,000 festival-goers at Germany's Till Fest, selling out headline shows, and sharing stages with Heart Of A Coward, Profiler, Avralize, and Osiah. With “The Drain,” the trio continue pushing their confrontational vision forward.
