Northwest England-based alt-metal outfit ALEYA return with their sophomore EP, “How It Ends,” a six-track release that pushes the band's creative ambitions into darker, heavier, and more expansive territory. Self-released on November 6, 2026, the record sees the quartet join forces with producer Dan Fox at Treehouse Studio, whose previous work includes Malevolence, Lake Malice, and While She Sleeps. Building on the foundations of their 2023 debut, “Idle Minds,” ALEYA deliver a more cohesive and ambitious collection, showcasing their ability to move between different corners of heavy music while maintaining a distinctive identity. Featuring Tom Evans on vocals, Sam Lawson on guitars, Mike Washington on bass, and James Wright on drums, the band continue to refine their genre-blending approach.
All songs on 'How It Ends' individually wrap around the human experience of 'loss'. In particular, the loss of faith in people, loss of control in life, loss of loved ones, loss of youth, loss of self-belief and the loss of meaning. A wide range of influences filter through the EP, with overtones of metalcore, nu-metal, alt-rock, post-hardcore, tech-metal and deathcore - all expertly fused together by the N.W England based ALEYA. The new record features three previously unreleased tracks, alongside key singles, 'Sapphire Skies'. 'Follow Me' and 'Old Friends. With continued support from BBC Radio One, Kerrang! Radio and independent stations around the globe, ALEYA enter a new era with the arrival of 'How It Ends'. The digital-only release is supported by a short UK tour this November, along with limited edition merchandise that includes holographic trading cards for devout followers.
ALEYA comment on their latest release:
''We've tried to span as many parts of the metal genre as we can in this EP. SELF-TALK & Sapphire Skies are synth-driven, energetic and catchy, designed for a live setting. Follow Me & Old Friends move into a more melancholic and alt-rock style built around big choruses and cathartic singing, with Wasteland & DEATH SPIRAL being our 'heaviest' and most unpredictable songs. This EP brings together all the things we love in heavy music: surprise breakdowns, multiple vocal styles, guitar solos, big choruses, and sections for big circle pits.''
