SEVERALS Release New Album 'Codex', Embodying Absolute Resilience and Introducing Fresh Blood to the Lineup

Modern metal outfit Severals are unleashing their highly anticipated album, Codex. The record is the culmination of an intensive creative process lasting over a year and symbolizes a fundamental transformation within the band. Alongside the full album release, the band is unveiling their final two previously unreleased tracks, "Taste It" and "DYFWYL (Do You Fear What You Love)."

For Severals, Codex is not just another standard release. As the band themselves state, it is a cohesive concept and a manifesto of absolute resilience. The past year has been a period of extremely intense creation for the quartet, during which interpersonal relationships were both forged and broken. Hundreds of hours spent searching for the ideal sound and visuals have left an indelible mark on the final shape of the record. Thematically, the album captures the journey from dark, challenging moments to the discovery of a new inner strength that drives a person forward.

Just before the album’s release, the band served fans the hard-hitting single "Lift Me Up." The track was accompanied by a sophisticated music video directed entirely by the band themselves. Severals thus maintain their independent DIY vision, where music and visuals form one strongly interconnected entity.

Alongside the dawn of a new era for the band and the completion of the record, Severals also underwent a lineup change. Parting ways amicably with longtime guitarist Jay, the role of the new driving force behind the strings is now taken over by David Matlák, who brings fresh blood and energy to the lineup.

With their new lineup and the album Codex, Severals are ready to definitively close the old chapter and hit the stages to present their strongest material to date live.

"Whether you’ve followed us for years or just discovered our music yesterday, the resonance of our fans is the energy that pushes us forward. The changes we went through were necessary for our Codex to remain absolute. We look forward to presenting it to you live soon," the band shares with their fans.

Severals will host their album release show on February 13, 2027, at the Futurum Music Bar in Prague, supported by the Brno-based modern metal band Seeing Things.
