German hardcore outfit BACKSTABBED have released their new four-track EP SERVANT OF MISERY, arriving October 2, 2026, and marking another uncompromising chapter for the Offenburg-based band. Alongside the EP’s release, the band have unveiled an official music video for “STONE COLD,” the record’s title-track? Wait — “STONE COLD” is not the title track; the EP is titled SERVANT OF MISERY. “STONE COLD” stands as the second track on the release and captures the band’s ability to combine raw hardcore intensity with a more melodic and emotionally charged side.
“STONE COLD” deals with the feeling of being trapped behind walls built from the past, turning emotional isolation and self-created barriers into the song’s central theme. Musically, BACKSTABBED balance driving hardcore energy with memorable melodic elements, giving the track an anthemic quality without sacrificing its physical impact. The result is a song that can move between forceful vocal delivery, groove-heavy instrumentation and moments designed to be shouted back from the pit.
SERVANT OF MISERY brings together four songs that explore loss, guilt, inner conflict, alienation and the struggle to break destructive cycles. The EP follows “SPRING INSIDE MY GRAVE” and “ANOMALY,” while “BOUND TO MISERY” completes the release with a feature from FINALIZER. BACKSTABBED describe the record as an honest reflection on human vulnerability, balancing the darker sides of personal experience with the possibility of eventually breaking free.
With “STONE COLD,” BACKSTABBED turn personal walls into something built for the hardcore pit. SERVANT OF MISERY is out now, delivering four tracks that push the band's boundary-breaking approach through heavy riffs, grooves, memorable moments and uncompromising hardcore energy.
