Denton, TX — Alternative-rock quintet Saint Blonde have released their highly anticipated debut album …with little ease out now via. Pale Chord & Rise Records BMG. LISTEN HERE.
Coinciding with the release of the new album, Saint Blonde have also shared a new performance video for the title track “...with little ease,” filmed at a retro skating rink in the band’s home state of Texas.
The thirteen-track offering finds the alternative rock group confronting a rapidly changing music industry landscape where homogenization has become the norm and virality is attempted at an alarmingly manufactured rate. With a DIY and punk-inspired ethos, Saint Blonde, which consists of Hunter Fitch (vocals), Tre Rollins (guitar), Alexander Hernandez (guitar), Tyler Lee Cooper (drums), and Kyle Cade (bass), have thrown the rulebook away on …with little ease.
Produced by Courtney Ballard (5 Seconds of Summer, Waterparks, All Time Low), …with little ease covers a wide range of sonic and lyrical ground while remaining entirely cohesive. Ahead of the album’s release, fans received a series of compelling singles, including the angular post-punk ripper “trendsetter,” an observation of the music industry rat race; the lovesick anthem “prowl”; their melodically infectious take on performative praise, “gimme my flowers”; and the surf rock-inflected critique of capitalism, “dirty $$$.” Most recently, the band shared “chainwhip,” a timely punk-inflected middle finger to authoritarian regimes in power and “smooth talkin," a deceptively catchy cautionary tale of steering clear of those who starve for public favor or social currency while switching up behind closed doors.
Speaking on the process of creating their debut album, vocalist Hunter Fitch shares:
“…with little ease feels like the only honest title we could’ve given this record. It took a long time to get here, and very little about the process was easy. A lot changed while we were making it. Our lives changed, the band changed, and the world somehow got stranger, more exhausting and more cynical by the year. But the songs came into focus. Every demo and every session helped us understand a little more about what Saint Blonde was supposed to be and what we actually wanted to say.
This record became a kind of crossroads for all of it: loss, identity, sarcasm, frustration with the future, the absurdity of modern living, and the stubborn desire to keep making something we cared about while everything else felt increasingly unstable. Somewhere in that maelstrom, the sound finally caught up with the lens we’ve always seen the world through.
There were setbacks, personal tragedies, a complete band reset during COVID and plenty of other reasons this record could’ve never happened, but it did anyway. Timing is everything. Pressure changes things. Growth comes with little ease.”
For their label debut, Saint Blonde took to heart the familiar adage that you have your entire life to write your first album. …with little ease is the culmination of that journey, capturing a band that has found its sound through a grueling creative process and emerged with a record that serves as both a snapshot of exactly who Saint Blonde are today and a glimpse of where they are headed next.
Refusing to chase flash-in-the-pan trends, Saint Blonde instead favor something sharp, gritty, defiant and unmistakably their own, balancing raw energy with an infectious, hook-laden sensibility. The band likens their sound to a “Quentin Tarantino bank heist gone wrong” and the incendiary skate anthems of the early aughts, but beneath the playful chaos lies something deeply relatable. …with little ease is ultimately an album for a generation exhausted by living inward and overstimulated by modern society, one craving honesty, cathartic release and something that feels real.
