IMMINENCE Announce Axis Mundi Film + Exclusive Global Screenings - “Axis Mundi” Album Arrives October 2

The final chapter of "Axis Mundi" will unfold on the big screen. On September 29 in the U.S. and October 1 across the UK, Europe and Australia, Swedish metalcore visionaries Imminence and Sumerian Pictures, in association with Sumerian Records, invite fans inside the complete world of "Axis Mundi" for a series of exclusive theatrical screenings, just ahead of the album's October 2 release. Part film, part first listen, the one-night events will feature tracks from the album, including unheard music and never-before-seen visuals that bring the story to its conclusion - offering the most extensive first experience of the new album before its release.

With each release from "Axis Mundi", Imminence have drawn fans deeper into the world at the heart of the album. “The Sword That Never Bends” sent its immortal knight on his journey, while “False Light” and “If Not Now, When” carried him deeper into a realm shaped by fate, mortality and the search for meaning. Now, those individual chapters come together as one continuous cinematic experience, with the "Axis Mundi" film moving beyond what fans have seen so far to reveal unheard music, unseen visuals and the final act of the saga for the first time.

His quest leads toward the Axis Mundi, the mythical bridge between the worlds of life and death, as he is pursued by the Shadow - an evil counterpart born from the same curse - and reluctantly joined by a hound who becomes his unlikely companion. But beneath the film's dark mythology is something deeply human: the realization that life holds meaning because it ends, and the courage to choose who we become with the time we're given.

The theatrical experience extends beyond the film itself. Each screening will be followed by an exclusive 20-minute making-of feature, taking fans behind the creation of "Axis Mundi", from the album's music and mythology to the sprawling visual production that brought it to life.

“Someone told us: ‘You’re such a cinematic band, you should take it to the next step and make a movie.’ You can’t just say that to a band like Imminence,” guitarist Harald Barrett recalls.

Together with vocalist Eddie Berg, Barrett began expanding the visual language Imminence had built across their artwork, videos and live production into something far larger. They worked with longtime visual collaborator and album artist Jakob Koc to establish the world and its mythology, before bringing in scriptwriter Juan Felipe Zul and director Pavel Trebukhin to turn it into a fully realized film.

And the movie was never separate from the music. Created in parallel, the film and album became two halves of the same world. "Axis Mundi" pushes the contrasts at the heart of Imminence further than ever: crushing heaviness against sweeping orchestration, Berg's screams against soaring clean vocals, and his signature violin woven deeper into the music. Self-produced outside Malmö and recorded in Gothenburg with longtime engineer Henrik Udd, with additional production input from Drew Fulk and string arrangements from film composer Lukas Geppert, the album follows the international breakthrough of 2024's The Black and a two-year run that has seen Imminence sell out shows across North America, South America, Australia, Japan and Europe.

Before that universe arrives everywhere on October 2, the curtain rises in theaters first.
