SPACEGOAT Bring Dark Attraction to Life With “Coquette”

Central Victoria, Australia-based alternative metal outfit SPACEGOAT return with their latest new single and official video, Coquette, continuing a musical journey built around heavy grooves, raw emotion and soaring melody. Formed in 2018, the Bendigo-based five-piece have steadily carved out their own space within Australia's alternative metal scene, drawing from a broad range of influences while refusing to settle into a single formula. Their sound has previously been associated with the likes of Flyleaf, Guano Apes, Tool, Halestorm, Deftones, Sevendust and The Butterfly Effect, but SPACEGOAT's identity comes from the way those influences are reshaped into something distinctly their own.

Coquette arrives as another chapter in a catalogue that has already included the EPs 33 and Catharsis, alongside a steady run of singles including Miasma, Dirty Fighter, Earthquakes, Eternal Return, Beyond The Stars, Spit The Poison and Concede/Defy. Across those releases, the band have consistently balanced weight with melody, pairing muscular guitar work and groove-driven foundations with a more emotionally charged side. Their official Bandcamp describes the group's approach as music that dives into the darker corners of human experience, with every note delivered deliberately and without holding back.

What makes SPACEGOAT particularly interesting is the evolution visible throughout their releases. Catharsis established a heavier foundation, while later material such as Eternal Return and Beyond The Stars demonstrated how comfortably the band can move between darker, heavier territory and more atmospheric songwriting. The group have also built a reputation for energetic and infectious live performances, with their five members bringing a clear sense of chemistry to the stage. That combination of groove, melody and emotional weight remains central to what makes SPACEGOAT stand out within Australia's alternative metal landscape.

With Coquette, SPACEGOAT continue pushing that identity forward, delivering another statement from a band that has spent years developing its sound on its own terms. From their Bendigo roots to a growing catalogue of releases and performances across Victoria and beyond, the Australian outfit remain firmly focused on building something honest, heavy and unmistakably theirs. Coquette is another invitation into the SPACEGOAT universe — and one worth stepping into.
