San Luis Potosí Capital, México slamming beatdown force Breathing Water unleash absolute chaos with their new EP TRAITORS SHOULD BE HANGED, a nearly 28-minute descent into crushing grooves, violent slams, and street-level aggression. Combining the suffocating brutality of slam with the stomping violence of beatdown hardcore, the band deliver a release built for total devastation from start to finish.
The EP opens with “Deadman Wonderland,” a hip-hop-driven intro track featuring a woman delivering rap vocals, immediately establishing that BREATHING WATER are not interested in following a conventional formula. That unexpected opening quickly gives way to the crushing aggression of “Al Menos, Sé Humano,” where the band launch into filthy grooves, guttural vocal destruction, and punishing slamming beatdown brutality.
Closing track “Ladrón De La City” seals the EP with another wave of aggressive energy, reinforcing the band’s commitment to pure sonic brutality. Throughout the release, BREATHING WATER maintain an oppressive atmosphere while blending slamming death metal violence with the raw, pit-driven mentality of beatdown hardcore, creating a sound that feels chaotic, hostile, and unapologetically heavy.
With TRAITORS SHOULD BE HANGED, BREATHING WATER continue establishing themselves as a dangerous force emerging from México’s underground heavy scene. Violent, groove-soaked, and relentlessly punishing, the EP stands as a savage statement from a band embracing extremity without compromise.
