Following the band’s triumphant return with new music last month, post-
hardcore 5 piece LASTELLE are quickly following up the success they’ve seen in early 2024
with the release of their brand-new single ‘Life In Silhouettes’, as well as embarking on a tour
supporting UK post-hardcore legends InMe.
With comparisons being drawn to the likes of Holding Absence, Atreyu and Underoath;
LASTELLE’s music deals with the unfiltered expression of emotion. Their goal is to make
relatable music, and help people feel as though they are less alone. They write about struggles
with neurodivergence, the loss of loved ones, and the difficulty felt in trying to emotionally
express yourself. ‘Life In Silhouettes’ does just this with juxtaposed majestically ethereal
instrumentals and roaring frenzied vocals.
Fred Whatmore (Bass) explains, “Life In Silhouettes speaks to my desire to understand my
neurodivergent mind. About feeling unsure of my place in the world, the fear of finding out
there was ‘something wrong’ with my brain and learning to love myself through a journey of
self-discovery.”
The band’s self-directed music video for ‘Life In Silhouettes’ was filmed at a recent live
concert in their hometown of Oxford, UK and demonstrates the passionate live show the band
are fast becoming known for.
