IN SHALLOWS Return With Thought-Provoking New Single "World Fire"

New Hampshire heavy music up-and-comers In Shallows are back with “World Fire,” their first triumphant single of 2024.

“World Fire” is the direct follow-up to their viral hit “Venom,” which exploded on TikTok after its release in the summer of last year, amassing more than half a million streams on Spotify alone. With this new single, the band once again balances ferocious intensity with catchy accessibility, drawing comparison to the best in the modern metalcore genre. With “Venom” receiving praise as “stellar instrumentals and powerful lyrics” from the likes of New Noise Magazine, the band aims to further solidify themselves amongst the next generation of heavy music icons with “World Fire.”

While instrumentally the band takes a “don’t mess with a good thing” approach, lyrically, they’ve stepped their game up, matching the instrumental vigour with a thought-provoking edge describing the world around them. “We thought this song was necessary in light of recent events around the world.” The band continues, “We didn’t just take our words and put them in a song, we were sick of watching the news everyday with the same droning nonsense. It got to the point that we realized the world was engulfed with negativity. “World Fire” metaphorically reflects our views of humanity failing and creating our own destruction.”

With almost a year between this and their latest recent single, there’s one thing you can without a doubt say about In Shallows; there’s an intent and a purpose behind every release. This idea is perfectly encapsulated in “World Fire,” as the band internalizes the world around them to deliver a truly anthemic song for the masses. It’s been said before, and we’ll say it again, brace yourselves for the upward trajectory this talented young band is facing, as there’s plenty more on the horizon.
