THE COLONY - Conquer Demons With New Single and Video "Ex-Hail"

Glasgow alt-metal quintet The Colony have shared their new single 'Ex-Hail'. The release comes with the announcement of their fourth album Have Hope, due for release on April 7th accompanied by a headline show at Glasgow's Audio venue. The soaring, riff-heavy track reflects on the band's own experiences with struggles of the mind, and how one can fight through such issues and strive to take control of their own life. 'Ex-Hail' comes with a slick music video in which the band can be seen performing the song in one of their favourite Glaswegian venues.

The Colony comment: "This song is about dealing with internal struggles and how we, as individuals, feel on a day-to-day basis, coping with our own minds. It is written from the point of view where the person has decided that they are going to take control of their mind and the negative thoughts and demons they carry with them, and then helping others achieve the same peace of mind. We hope that people will take away that no matter what you go through, you are not alone."

The Colony's upcoming fourth album Have Hope was produced by Steven Jones (Bleed from Within, From Sorrow to Serenity) and is shaping up to be the band's most accomplished work yet.

Since their formation, The Colony have worked tirelessly to forge their sound; a brand of metal that had unique identity, that possessed a powerful character and a musical sense of adventure. They honed their skills, developing their musicianship until they had the capability to bring to life all the music they could imagine and then, which can be heard on debut EP, Romper Stomper – a sharp, energy filled three-song attack.

Quickly building momentum The Colony toured Ireland and Eastern Europe on the back of the critical acclaim reaped by their Time of Wolves album and played several open-air festivals in Romania, including the Metalhead Meeting twice, once in 2015 with Kreator, Rotting Christ and Dragonforce. and again in 2017 with Children of Bodom, Soulfly, Kataklysm and more. The band then returned to the UK for a tour with their friends in Godstone.

With The Colony, a new peak is only ever a challenge to climb even higher, and in the summer of 2019 they announced their new full length album Smoke And Mirrors. For this set of songs, the band have taken everything that made their previous efforts so successful and seemingly effortlessly, just raised the bar in every department. Smoke And Mirrors saw the light of day in late September 2019, however the band didn’t get the chance to tour due to the pandemic.

Now back with new single, the band will be announcing big plans for 2023.
