With the tragic and untimely passing of two of the band's original line-up never far from their minds, This Dying Hour's latest single 'Torchbearer (feat. Jot Maxi)' delivers a palpable and very personal darkness as it explores the relationship between grief and accountability.

Musically, the track is every bit as intense as the subject matter that fills it. Well-polished chugging riffs blend effortlessly with the unrelenting rhythmic power of the drums to achieve a brand of metalcore that is both loyal to its roots and unique in its authenticity. Whilst vocalist Steve Kerr excels in the transition between gritty unclean verses and smooth soaring choruses, the contribution from Jot Maxi (Hacktivist) adds a fresh flavour which only serves to expand the dynamism of an already commanding track.

Vocalist Steve Kerr says of the single: "'Torchbearer challenges the way we handle grief through actions, blame and accountability. None of us can escape death, so we have to find a way to handle it better through creativity."

A limited-edition comic designed by the band will be released to visually supplement the single; expanding on its brutal and graphic themes, and establishing a world in which the band's musical and artistic expressions converge.
