Within Destruction are the masters of keeping their listeners guessing. Following hot on the heels of their acclaimed 2020 album Yokai, it was hard to guess what the Slovenian outfit would do next, but the guessing can stop now with their new single ’Nightmare’. Built around a catchy, groovy-yet-driving chorus and an erratic onslaught of razor-sharp riffs and bludgeoning breakdowns, ‘Nightmare’ sees Within Destruction at their most hybridised state, continuing to include overt metallic and pop influence to a cauldron of crushing deathcore. Within Destruction have grown introspective, contemplating the nature of ones legacy and the impact of death on the nature of fame, giving the listeners more substance and stopping power to match the immense instrumental onslaught. While ‘Nightmare’ might not give you nightmares, it definitely packs enough energy to keep you up all night.
‘Nightmare’ kickstarts Within Destruction's new release cycle and is out on the 15th April 2022. Over the campaign, the band have already had support from Lambgoat, Invicta Magazine, Metal Trenches, Riot Vision and more. The band have already surpassed 19 million streams on Spotify alone across their previous releases, and have no intention of slowing down. The band tour with Enterprise Earth across USA, headline in Australia with Signs Of The Swarm and play a European headliner this Autumn, but before all that, they tour the UK and EU with Monasteries (UK dates only) around this single release. Dates below:
Speaking about ‘Nightmare’ drummer Luka Vezzosi says : "We're very excited to finally start showing everyone what we've been working on for the past two years. Nightmare continues in the direction we envisioned with Yokai in 2020 and is one of the grooviest songs we've ever made. The song is packed with heavy riffs, distorted 808 basslines, groovy drums and is built around a big chorus that includes something we've never done before, but finally had the perfect moment and reason to do. Mixing and mastering was done by Jeff Dunne who worked with Motionless in White, Ice Nine Kills, Veil of Maya, etc. and he without a doubt made the most massive sound we've ever had.”
