TOOTHLESS - Stream Chaotic New EP, "Misinformed"

Chaotic metalcore act Toothless have released their highly-anticipated new EP, "Misinformed", today. Chock-full of pummeling hooks, biting vocals, outrageous drumming, and odd time signatures without getting too stuffy, the three songs on Misinformed focus on the current obsession with anti-intellectualism and the weaponizing of disinformation in the modern age. Opener “The Neighbors” leads off with an anthemic vocal call accompanied by resonating riffs before bursting into an explosive display of the band’s technical prowess. “Grinner” wastes no time kicking in as vocalist Travis Antoniello belts out “Are you suspect of my motivations yet?” that then forms into a back and forth with guest vocalist Justin Bonitz of Tallah. The moodiest and most atmospheric track on the EP comes in with closer “Timeline: Eroded”. Clocking in at just over 5 minutes, the song showcases the only clean singing on the release while still providing plenty of head-banging worthy moments before heading into a slow fade out.

The EP was produced, engineered and mixed by Greg Thomas and Chris Teti at Silver Bullet Studios, and mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering. The band have also released instrumental versions of the songs as a digital exclusive to provide fans with two different listening experiences. You can stream Misinformed below and order a physical copy here.

Misinformed Tracklist:

1. The Neighbors
2. Grinner (ft. Justin Bonitz)
3. Timeline: Eroded

Toothless found their footing in 2015, taking influence from the likes of The Chariot, Every Time I Die, and The Dillinger Escape Plan, and they have the chops to prove it. Formed by guitarist Eric Novroski and drummer James Slattery, the two brought in frontman Travis Antoniello. After cycling through a couple of bassists, Brian Zannetti filled the role of guitarist and Eric transitioned to bass. The band previously released their self-titled EP in 2016, followed by 2018’s Red EP.
