UK Hard-hitters HOUSE OF HATCHETS continue their climb with the release of their debut album, Reach, which arrives on Friday 21st June. Already picking up favorable comparisons to everyone from Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Deftones and Funeral for a Friend, the towering riff maestros keep on going from strength to strength. The band’s current new video, "Burn" has made its mark and the ascending Alt-metalers have also just dropped a new lyric video for the track, "Moth Song". You can check both videos below!
Coming at you from Edinburgh, and featuring Chris Allison (Vocals), Pete Cook (Bass), Frazer Parker (Drums), and Jamie Parker and Lewis Wheeler (Guitars), HOUSE OF HATCHETS revealed their engrossing debut EP, The Grind, in the Summer of 2017. Mixed and mastered by Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me the Horizon, Bullet for my Valentine, Monuments), the record secured positive attention in both the US and the UK. Scottish DJ and journalist Jim Gellatly (Amazing Radio) also championed the band in the Scottish Sun, citing that they deliver “Explosive noise with monster riffs, but bursting with pop sensibility”.
Throughout 2018 the hard-working quintet worked once again with Romesh Dodangoda, as they diligently created their debut album. The record, entitled Reach, will be backed by a glut of UK and European dates. Vocalist Chris Allison comments about the album: “I think that we had identified our strengths from the recording of our EP ‘The Grind’. From there it was a case of picking through the songs and finding what we wanted to expand on. The album is us getting to the route of our sound and really crafting it to get the wonderful heavy racket you hear on ‘Reach’.” Chris continues: “Personally, I don't think we sound like anyone else. You can hear elements of other people, but when we bring it all together it only sounds like us. It can be weird, explosive and angry, but it is also honest, deep, and moving. That's my favourite thing about what we create. It can be raw but it’s always real.”
