FOTO SHOW REPORT - HEAVEN SHALL BURN, AUGUST BURNS RED, WHITECHAPEL, IN HEARTS WAKE@GASOMETER, VIENNA 29TH MARCH 2018

On 29th of March we went on another gig to Vienna. To start the holidays properly we caught "The Final March Tour" and checked out a great pack of bands that played in Gasometer hall.

The doors of the hall opened at 7 p.m. A Great number of people already gathered in the hall and were ready for the show to start. First up a five-piece Australian metalcore band, In Hearts Wake, made an impressive introduction. They opened the show with "Overthrow", from the latest record "Ark". Prior to this record's release, the band organised a programme to clean up waterways and beaches in Australia. The band's positive environmental message has been consistent throughout their discography. They continued the show with "Breakaway" and "Healer". There was a lot of movement going on under the stage and not long after the start the first circle pit quickly began. They covered all periods of creating and with these great tracks in which a clear message can be heard, they certainly have the potential to only move forward. We also heard "Departure", "Warcry", "Earthwalker" and "Refuge".

Second band up, Whitechapel, from the US started intensely, with their fast, strong, right to the point style of playing. They opened the show with "I Dementia", from the Whitechapel record. You can tell they have been performing for a long time, as they were consistent and the energy was only rising as they went through the set list. They also played: Faces, Let Me Burn, Our Endless War, The Saw Is the Law and others, they closed the show with "This Is Exile".

After the break, it was time for some more melodic riffs. August Burns Red from the US was up next. They opened the show with some latest material, and a heavier song, to move the crowd right from the start, they played "King Of Sorrow". They continued with "Empire" and another great recent song "Frost". You can tell that the band wasn't holding back at all and neither did the crowd. They weren't static for a second, they all moved around the stage a lot, especially the vocalist as usual. We also heard: Ghosts, Invisible Enemy, Composure, Float. For the final song, they played White Washed.

For the final act of the night Heaven Shall Burn, the hall was filled up completely, with warmed up, eager fans, that have been waiting for the headliners to start. First few songs: "Downshifter", "Bring The War Home", "The Weapon They Fear" made a big impact. There was moshing and crowd surfing happening right from the start and a circle pit was quickly formed. With each song, they lifted up the crowd even more. It was sonically and visually completed show, the setlist was well chosen. The band eaven invited a fan to perform "Black Tears" in full! Amazing moment, specially for the fan! For the second part of the show, we heard some of their greatest works, like: "Black Tears", "Corrium", "The Final March", Voice Of The Voiceless and many more. For the final song, we heard "Valhalla.
