Brisbane metal outfit Meliorist are today announcing the release of their new EP, 'ii.' and along with it, dropping their first single and video from it AND announcing their launch show for it. 'ii.' will be released into the world on Friday December 1 via iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp and goes on pre-sale this Friday October 27.
A self-produced effort, this new record 'ii.' is a more mature and focused effort from the band - they especially focused on making a more dynamic release that expanded upon their style.
Meliorist was formed in 2015 by Andrew Apte and James Ollis who have been playing together for years prior in former bands - and have now formed this 5-piece around their new music - consisting of Matthew Williams on Vocals, Andrew Apte on Guitar, Maxim Lullfitz on Guitar, Samuel Schodel on Bass and James Ollis on Drums.
The tracks, including this single, My Reflection, were self-produced by Andrew Apte in his home-studio in Brisbane, Australia and mixed and mastered by Brian Hood of 456 recordings in Nashville TN, who has worked with bands such as Memphis May Fire, Sworn In, Being As An Ocean and Iconoclast. The cover artwork is by Maxime Desmettre, a French/Canadian artist living in Guangzhou/China, who has done concept art and design for many Ubisoft videogames.
Guitarist for the band, Andrew Apte, is enthusiastic about the release - "We are really excited to release this EP because it really is a self produced product. We have spent countless hours getting this release together. My Reflection is the first single and captures a high energy side of the band. We just hope people like it as much as we do!"
