THE FIVE HUNDRED - Release ‘The Rush’ Video, Reveal EP Details and Announce Tour Supporting Carnifex

The Five Hundred have been hard at work writing their latest EP, ‘The Veil’, a five-track outing which will be a follow-up to their 2015 EP, ‘Winters’. ‘The Veil’ was produced by Justin Paul Hill (Sikth, Heart of a Coward, Betraying The Martyrs) and will be released on April 21st, 2017 via London Road Records. ‘The Veil’ is a collection of the band's most haunting, heavy and darkly melodic work so far.

As a preview of what to expect from ‘The Veil’, The Five Hundred have unveiled their first taste from the EP in the form of a lyric video for ‘The Rush’, which was premiered by Terrorizer on Friday 7th April. The haunting video shows gruesome, horror movie-like imagery, including a creepy dolls head and bloody knives.

'The Veil' tracklist

1. Aftermath
2. Ghost In The Flames
3. The Rush
4. The Veil
5. The Veil Pt II

Opening track, 'The Aftermath' follows on from the decay of the Nottingham quintet's previous release, a mournful introduction to what quickly becomes a punch-to-the-face riff frenzy. 'The Rush' is the first track to be unleashed from the EP.

Guitarist Mark Byrne describes the song: "It's a tale of euphoric misanthropy and hauntingly dark despair. The music effortlessly combines furious guitar work and painfully beautiful melody with spine-snapping breakdowns and depraved, sadistic lyrics."

With rumours of the release of a full debut album later on this year (label yet to be announced), The Veil serves as tasty precursor to what promises to be The Five Hundred's ascent to becoming one of the UK's hottest new metal bands.
