Metallica's upcoming IMAX 3D concert movie, Metallica Through the Never, is shaping up to be an epic blowout that combines concert footage with narrative elements. In the film's trailer,
the band blasted through their classic track "Master of Puppets" while
riots raged both inside and outside the arena. Although you'll have to
wait and see the rest of the ridiculousness the band has planned for the
track, now you can take an exclusive first listen to the rendition of
"Master of Puppets" that will appear on the soundtrack to Metallica Through the Never (which is available for pre-order here).
Out September 24th at a two-disc set on Blackened Recordings, the
soundtrack will also be available as a digital download and on 33 1/3
rpm vinyl, with limited-edition 45 rpm vinyl slated for release this
fall.

"Let's hear it for the old-school soundtrack!" drummer Lars Ulrich said. "Not only are we beyond psyched about our movie coming your way shortly, but the fact that we get to share the music directly in all these formats is way fuckin' cool."
Metallica Through the Never will open in IMAX 3D theaters on September 27th, with a wide release on October 4th.
