At long last the wait is over. After a five-year hiatus, heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are returning to Graspop Metal Meeting as part of their ‘Maiden England World Tour’.

Founded in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, Iron Maiden is undisputedly one of the most influential bands in heavy metal history. Restored to full strength after vocalist Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith returned to the fold in 1999, the sextet’s popularity has since grown to epic proportions. Maiden’s effortless quality and boundless enthusiasm continues to inspire legions of fans around the world and with every new tour their fan base continues to grow.

GRASPOP METAL MEETING is extremely proud and happy to welcome the great IRON MAIDEN to Belgium on Sunday 30 JUNE 2013.

IronMaidenThe MAIDEN ENGLAND
TOUR marks the third chapter in the History of Iron Maiden, a journey which began in 2004 with The Early Days DVD and subsequent 2005 Early Days Tour. Part Two followed in 2008 with the Live After Death DVD and the band embarking on their ground-breaking Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008/9, which saw them play to over two million fans in almost 40 countries flying between shows on five continents on their customised Boeing 757, named Ed Force One, and piloted by vocalist Bruce Dickinson and covered in full by the DVD “Flight 666”.

Now MAIDEN ENGLAND sees the band recreate the stage show of the 1988’s Seventh Son Tour and playing many songs from that legendary tour and the 1989 concert VHS video titled “Maiden England”, which lends its name to this tour

Steve Harris says,
“We know how popular the History of Maiden Tours are with fans of all ages and we will be bringing with us the full production we had on tour in North America earlier this year. Thanks to modern technology, we’ve been able to update and improve on the original  1988 production for Maiden England. We will be bringing with us a huge new lightshow, stage set, various incarnations of Eddie, plenty of pyro and all kinds of other exciting stuff for the fans.

We’ve also had a huge amount of fun with the set list as we got to play songs we’ve not played in a very long time like Seventh Son, The Prisoner and Afraid To Shoot Strangers, as well as fan favourites like The Trooper, Aces High, The Clairvoyant, The Number Of The Beast, Wasted Years and Run To The Hills. The opening leg of the tour was so enjoyable for the whole band, we’re really looking forward to taking this whole show to our fans around Europe and we’re especially happy to be coming back to headline Graspop, as it is a real metal festival and a place we always really love to play.”

Widely considered one of the most important and influential rock acts of all time, IRON MAIDEN have sold almost 90 million albums worldwide, played over 2000 live performances across 58 countries around the globe, and released 15 studio albums including the most recent, The Final Frontier, their biggest ever album chart success attaining No.1 positions in over 28 countries.

Iron Maiden is always a blast and we couldn’t wish for a better headliner to close next year’s GRASPOP METEL MEETING festival on Sunday, June 30.

North American set list: Moonchild, Can I Play With Madness,The Prisoner, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, The Trooper, The Number Of The Beast, Phantom Of The Opera, Run To The Hills, Wasted Years, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, The Clairvoyant, Fear Of The Dark, Iron Maiden, Aces High, The Evil That Men Do, Running Free.
