Corning, New York heavy outfit DESOLATE have unleashed a new double single pairing “first time listener, long time caller” with “dot your tees and cross your eyes.” The two-track release adds another chapter to a catalog that has seen the band move freely through deathcore, metalcore, beatdown, hardcore and nu-metal influences. Based in Corning, DESOLATE have been developing their abrasive and emotionally charged sound for more than a decade, with releases including Ruiners, The Fate Of Destruction Is The Joy Of Rebirth and the 2025 album notes from a dead house.

“first time listener, long time caller” opens the new release with DESOLATE's characteristically uncompromising approach, bringing together crushing heaviness, aggressive rhythmic passages and the darker emotional atmosphere that has run through the band's catalog. Their 2025 release notes from a dead house further explored that side of the band, combining deathcore and metalcore weight with beatdown, hardcore and melodic hardcore elements.

The second half, “dot your tees and cross your eyes,” completes the double single with another concentrated dose of DESOLATE's abrasive songwriting. The pairing continues a long-running willingness to move between different corners of heavy music rather than remain locked into one formula.
