Montreal (QC) – Canadian bruisers Deadwood continue their relentless ascent with the release of their crushing new single, “Blasphemy.” The track arrives on the heels of the band’s latest EP, Rituals Of A Dying Light, released this past January via Innerstrength Records.
“Blasphemy” sees Deadwood pushing their sound deeper into uncharted extremes—blending suffocating atmospheres, bone-crushing riffs, and unrelenting aggression into one of their most punishing offerings to date. The single builds on the foundation laid by Rituals Of A Dying Light, further cementing the band’s identity as a rising force in modern deathcore.
The music video is premiering with the Circle Pit and can be viewed below!
Deadwood uniquely fuses death metal and hardcore into a volatile, modern sound driven by their uncompromising ethos: “Make Deathcore Angry Again.” Known for their heavy, dark, and immersive approach, the band channels themes of terror and historical brutality into music designed to leave a lasting impact.
In support of their latest release, Deadwood will embark on a European tour this month, joining death metal veterans Monstrosity(MetalBlade Records) for a run that marks a major milestone in the band’s evolution. The tour will bring their intense and commanding live performance to new audiences across the continent.
Formed in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Deadwood quickly carved out a place in the heavy scene with their dark, unrelenting sound. The lineup unites seasoned veterans: guitarist Fred (ex-The Plasmarifle, ex-Ion Dissonance), guitarist Stéphane (ex-Nova Spei), drummer Charles (ex-Dismayd, Discovery Through Torment), and vocalist Derek, reuniting with Fred after a decade since their time in Malaga.
Drawing from the ferocity of Meshuggah, the brutality of Whitechapel, and the groove-driven power of Pantera, Deadwood delivers crushing riffs and haunting atmospheres steeped in true dark histories—from the Salem witch trials to the reign of Jack the Ripper.
Their catalog includes the EPs Nemesis (2022) and Inhuman (2023), along with standout singles “Straightblade” (2023), “Djinn Pitts” (2024), and “Heretic” (2025). Known for their commanding live presence, Deadwood has toured Japan with Humanity’s Last Breath and DVRK, stormed U.S. stages in 2025, opened twice for Born of Osiris in Montréal, and appeared at Inkcarceration Festival 2025.
With “Blasphemy,” Deadwood continues to expand their reach and sharpen their sonic assault—setting the stage for a breakout year as they bring their brand of dark, punishing heaviness to audiences worldwide.
