Hot on the heels of winning One To Watch at the AIM Independent Music Awards, Native James today releases his brand new defiant single, DUMB BRUDDAH via SharpTone Records. Opening with an old school style nu-metal riff, the track explodes into Native’s signature vocals, commanding attention from the off. Native has also revealed the official music video, which sees him pay homage to classic 00s nu-metal videos, including the recreation of the renowned scene from Korn’s Freak On A Leash. Filmed and directed by Thomas Brooker, the video can be seen below.
Native has explained, "DUMB BRUDDAH is about that inner feeling where you’re at your limit. You’ve had enough; enough of people treating you like shit, like they don’t care, like you're worth nothing. This a call out to those people that disregard you, put you down and make you feel weak. Taking the power and standing up for yourself when you’ve hit that limit." Listen here.
This summer saw the grime/metal rising star return with new music, freshly signed to his new label home SharpTone Records. Native also revealed the official music video, which can be seen here. Teaming up once again with his long-time collaborator, the striking black and white visuals were directed by Reece Selvadorai.
