ALTER BRIDGE Put “Tested And Able” In The Spotlight With New Music Video

ALTER BRIDGE have released a new music video for “Tested And Able,” one of the standout tracks from their self-titled eighth studio album, Alter Bridge. Released earlier this year via Napalm Records, the album marked a significant milestone for the band, bringing Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips together for a record that deliberately embraces the identity they have developed across more than two decades. “Tested And Able” adds another dimension to that formula, combining a powerful riff with the band’s trademark melodic instincts and a particularly strong vocal exchange.

The song carries an interesting history within the ALTER BRIDGE catalogue. “Tested And Able” was initially developed by Mark Tremonti for his solo project, but the guitarist ultimately decided to hold the song back. Once it found its way into the ALTER BRIDGE writing process, the band reshaped the arrangement, with Tremonti taking the verses and Myles Kennedy handling the choruses. The result is a track that highlights one of the band's most distinctive strengths: the ability of two very different voices to complement each other without compromising the weight of the music.

Lyrically, “Tested And Able” centers on resilience, moving beyond painful experiences and choosing to bet on yourself. The song reflects one of the recurring themes running through Alter Bridge, while its muscular guitar work and soaring chorus give it the kind of dynamic contrast that has become fundamental to the band's sound. Tremonti’s riff-driven approach provides the foundation, while Kennedy’s chorus performance opens the song into a much broader melodic space.

The new music video arrives as ALTER BRIDGE prepare for the final U.S. leg of their What Lies Within Tour. The 18-date run begins November 5 in Philadelphia, with BIG WRECK and TIM MONTANA joining the band on the road, before concluding December 5 in Reno. With “Tested And Able” now receiving its own visual treatment, ALTER BRIDGE continue to bring their latest chapter to life while celebrating the enduring chemistry that has made the band a defining force in modern hard rock.
