Following a completely sold-out 2026 edition, ALCATRAZ FESTIVAL is building serious momentum for its 2027 return, announcing 50 new names for next year's lineup. The latest additions bring a formidable mix of established heavy music veterans, extreme metal heavyweights, alternative outsiders, and contemporary forces to Kortrijk, Belgium. SKILLET, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, VENOM (MANTAS & ABADDON), GOGOL BORDELLO, UNCLE ACID AND THE DEADBEATS, and RUSSIAN CIRCLES lead the announcement, setting the stage for another packed edition of one of Belgium's major heavy music gatherings.
The newly confirmed acts span a wide range of sounds and generations. PRETTY MAIDS, MALEVOLENCE, THE OCEAN, POSSESSED, WALLS OF JERICHO, MGLA, and DARK FUNERAL bring very different forms of heaviness to the bill, while GREEN LUNG, SHADOW OF INTENT, SIX FEET UNDER, and FLOTSAM AND JETSAM add further weight to an already diverse lineup. Guitar virtuoso JOHN 5 and YOB are also among the announced names, alongside many more artists included in the latest reveal.
These additions join a substantial roster previously confirmed for 2027, featuring MERCYFUL FATE, EUROPE, CAVALERA performing Chaos A.D., DEVILDRIVER, HAMMERFALL, HALESTORM, KANONENFIEBER, TURBONEGRO, MADBALL, and JOHN BUSH performing material from his Anthrax years. DETHKLOK, BEAST IN BLACK, KATATONIA, DANKO JONES, WIND ROSE, HYPOCRISY, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, A TRIBUTE TO QUORTHON AND BATHORY, GAEREA, and NILE are also on the bill. With more than 40 names still to come, the lineup is far from complete.
ALCATRAZ FESTIVAL 2027 takes place from Thursday, August 5, through Sunday, August 8, 2027, in Kortrijk, near Ghent, Belgium. With 124 bands across four stages planned for the festival, anticipation is already building for its next edition. After selling out in 2026, Alcatraz is preparing to return with four days of heavy music and an expanding lineup that still has plenty more to reveal.
