WAVES IN APRIL Step Outside Themselves With “Out Of Body, Out Of Mind”

New Braunfels, Texas metalcore outfit WAVES IN APRIL have unveiled “Out Of Body, Out Of Mind,” a track from their debut full-length album, As Above, So Below. Released September 6, 2026, the 13-track record marks a major milestone for the band, bringing together the sound they have been developing since their lineup solidified in late 2024. The song has already featured in the band’s live sets, including their July performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where it appeared alongside “The Gallows,” “Decayed,” “Neverbloom” and “Leviathan.”

“Out Of Body, Out Of Mind” sits as the third track on As Above, So Below, surrounded by material that moves between crushing metalcore, melodic passages and the band’s modern take on early-2000s heavy music. WAVES IN APRIL have built their identity around that contrast, combining guttural vocals, heavy guitar work and forceful rhythms with cleaner, more melodic moments. The result is a sound that connects the nostalgia of the genre’s earlier era with a contemporary production approach.

The debut album was produced by John Moyer of DISTURBED, Matt Noveskey of BLUE OCTOBER and Ethan Wade, with Wade also handling the mixing and mastering. Recorded at Orb Studios, As Above, So Below collects thirteen songs, including “Kingdom Of Glass,” “Deadthrone,” “Uzumaki,” “Neverbloom,” “Decayed,” “Leviathan,” “Lying Figure,” “The Gallows” and the six-minute-plus title track. The independently released record represents the band’s first full-length statement.

“Out Of Body, Out Of Mind” now adds another piece to As Above, So Below as WAVES IN APRIL continue expanding their reach beyond New Braunfels. After touring across the United States and appearing at festivals including Rocklahoma, the Texas outfit are carrying their modern metalcore sound into a new chapter with their debut album firmly at the center.
