NETHERWALKER March Into Battle With “Thine King Weeps For Mercy”

Extreme metal three-piece NETHERWALKER unleash “Thine King Weeps For Mercy,” a track taken from their 2025 debut album Odyssey Of Respair. Formed in Ocala, Florida, the band bring together deathcore brutality, symphonic grandeur and medieval-fantasy storytelling, creating a sound that feels as much like an epic soundtrack to a dark quest as it does an assault of modern extreme metal. The album, released November 17, 2025, unfolds across fourteen tracks and follows three knights bound by fate as they attempt to reclaim their fallen kingdom.

“Thine King Weeps For Mercy” sits near the beginning of that journey as the second track on Odyssey Of Respair. Running for just under three minutes, the song throws NETHERWALKER’s most aggressive elements into a compact attack, combining crushing deathcore with grand symphonic textures and a dark fantasy atmosphere. The track's lyrics reinforce the album's medieval narrative, focusing on conquest, fallen kingdoms, divine power and the violent struggle to seize the throne.

The song also reflects the band's unusual combination of extreme heaviness and theatrical storytelling. NETHERWALKER draw influence from acts including Infant Annihilator, Necrophagist and Dark Funeral, while building their own identity around mythical themes and elaborate narratives. The current lineup features founder and guitarist Grayson Yearty alongside vocalist Alex Calver and drummer Mauricio Cortez Bowles, with the latter two joining the project in 2024 as NETHERWALKER expanded toward becoming a full live band.
