MENTAL CRUELTY Unleash “Frost” From Upcoming Album “Echoes Of A Forlorn Land”

MENTAL CRUELTY have unveiled “Frost,” the latest single from their upcoming album Echoes Of A Forlorn Land, arriving October 23, 2026 via Century Media Records. The Karlsruhe, Germany-based deathcore force return with the ninth track from an eleven-song record inspired by Norse mythology and ancient folklore, continuing the darker and more expansive direction introduced with the previously released “The Serpent Of Midgard” and “Raise The Raven Banner.” “Frost” arrives alongside an official video and pushes the band further into the world surrounding their new album.

Echoes Of A Forlorn Land takes MENTAL CRUELTY’s established deathcore foundation into broader territory, incorporating blackened death metal, black metal, folk and power metal elements. The record explores stories surrounding figures including Odin, Loki and Thor, with the band drawing on Northern mythology to create a darker and more cinematic musical setting. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren, known for his work with Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Kreator, Amon Amarth and Opeth.

“Frost” follows “Raise The Raven Banner,” which was introduced as the third single from the upcoming album, and “The Serpent Of Midgard.” The complete tracklist also includes “Weltennacht,” “Fenrir,” “Blood For Blood,” “Helheim,” “Draugar,” “Cry Of Batariel,” “Dämmerbruch” and “Ride Of The Valkyries,” with the record running for nearly 44 minutes.

With “Frost,” MENTAL CRUELTY continue building toward Echoes Of A Forlorn Land, expanding their sound while keeping the crushing foundation that has defined their rise. The album arrives October 23, followed by the band’s first European headline tour in November and December with Ov Sulfur and Extermination Dismemberment, alongside additional support on selected dates.
