London progressive metalcore powerhouse EXIST IMMORTAL return with “Something, Somewhere,” the opening track from their forthcoming EP Afterglow, arriving September 11, 2026 via Seek & Strike. The track introduces a new chapter for the band with a sound shaped by the upheaval and changes surrounding the creation of the five-track release. Following their 2022 self-titled album and subsequent standalone singles, Afterglow marks their first new release cycle in two years and presents a more focused and deliberate version of the band.
“Something, Somewhere” sits at the front of a record that explores the tension between heaviness, melody, technical precision, and atmosphere. EXIST IMMORTAL have built their identity around combining intricate musicianship with emotionally driven songwriting, and the new EP continues that approach while moving into a more defined and purposeful direction. The track establishes the foundation for what follows, placing the band firmly in the centre of a new creative era.
Afterglow was created during a period of significant change for EXIST IMMORTAL, including a lineup change alongside personal and health challenges. The five-track EP brings together “Something, Somewhere,” “Fail To Find,” “Afterglow,” “Stuck In Motion,” and “Shadow Work,” with a total running time of just over 21 minutes. The band have described the release as the point where they discovered more clearly what the band is meant to be, giving the material a stronger sense of identity and intention.
With “Something, Somewhere” opening the door, Afterglow promises a fresh statement from a band unwilling to stand still. EXIST IMMORTAL have spent more than a decade refining their sound, and this new chapter finds them turning uncertainty into forward momentum. On September 11, the full EP arrives, bringing with it a band that sounds more focused, more confident, and ready to move into whatever comes next.
