DAWN OF DEMISE Accelerate The Darkness With “Ominous”

Danish death metal veterans DAWN OF DEMISE return with “Ominous,” the latest single from their upcoming sixth full-length album, Feed My Absurdity, due October 9, 2026 via Unique Leader Records. The new track offers a different shade of the band’s established sound, pushing the pace further while retaining the crushing weight and groove that have defined DAWN OF DEMISE for more than two decades. After nearly seven years without a new album, the band are finally back with a record that brings their familiar brutality into a refreshed chapter.

“Ominous” sees the band stepping on the gas by their own standards. Known for their generally heavier and slower approach, DAWN OF DEMISE use the track to explore a faster side without abandoning the thick riffs and punishing groove at the core of their sound. The song combines old-school death metal tremolo work with slam-influenced heaviness and thrash elements, while Scott Jensen’s harsh vocals give the track the unmistakable aggression expected from the Danish veterans.

Feed My Absurdity also marks the return of original guitarist Jakob Haagen Nyholm, who was part of the band during their early demo and debut album. His return has helped reignite the creative energy within DAWN OF DEMISE after their extended recording gap, while producer Tue Madsen has shaped the ten-track album with a more organic and energetic production approach. The record also includes the previously released title track, with “Ominous” appearing as its second song.
