Australian death metal annihilators COMPLEXANT have unleashed “Cyclops,” the third single from their debut full-length Apex, released July 31, 2026 through Bleeding Art Collective. The track arrives alongside an official visualizer and lands as the seventh song on the ten-track album, continuing the band’s relentless assault of blackened atmosphere, death metal brutality and deathcore intensity. With Apex, COMPLEXANT have expanded the sound developed across their earlier releases into their most substantial statement yet.
“Cyclops” is driven by a dark and punishing musical foundation, with crushing guitars, forceful percussion and Dan Greig’s extreme vocal delivery pushing the track forward. Lyrically, the song takes aim at narrow-mindedness, arrogance and self-obsession, portraying a figure so consumed by their own distorted perspective that they fail to recognize the consequences closing in around them. The track’s central idea becomes another weapon within COMPLEXANT’s uncompromising approach.
Apex marks the band’s debut full-length following their 2023 EP A Rite Of Passage and a series of singles that helped establish their presence within Australia’s extreme-metal scene. The album contains ten tracks, including “No Angels Weep,” “Afterlife,” “Swing Myself To Sleep,” “Critical Mass,” “Heretical Supremacy,” “Eye For An Eye,” “No Hope For Humanity” and “No Hope For Sanctuary.” The record was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson, with vocals tracked by Joey Marsh and guitars and bass handled by Shannon Zivkovic.
With “Cyclops,” COMPLEXANT reinforce the savage identity that runs throughout Apex. The Australian outfit continue to fuse blackened darkness with death metal force and deathcore weight, delivering a track that hits with both brutality and purpose.
