German metalcore outfit HALF ME offer a raw glimpse into their upcoming album Dogma with “Psalm,” the band’s brand new single, arriving ahead of the record’s October 23 release via Arising Empire. Rather than relying on constant shifts or overwhelming layers, the track builds its impact through restraint, atmosphere, and the sheer force of the vocal performance.
“Psalm” moves at a deliberate mid-tempo pace, allowing a prominent guitar melody to carry much of the song while vocalist screams take centre stage. The stripped-back arrangement gives the performance an especially immediate quality, with the vocals cutting through the melody and driving the track’s emotional weight. Presented as a one-take vocal performance, the accompanying video further emphasizes the intensity and unfiltered character of the song.
