El Paso, Texas two-piece SHOCK SITE make a savage introduction with their self-titled EP, embracing the raw, uncompromising spirit of old-school deathcore. Formed by Dylan Hinojos and Beto Vipe, the band strips the genre back to its most violent essentials, delivering three tracks packed with downtempo punishment, filthy breakdowns, and the unmistakable influence of the MySpace-era deathcore movement.
The EP opens with “Real Life Death,” a relentless display of downtempo brutality driven by crushing riffs, devastating breakdowns, and cavernous vocal work. “Savagely Beaten Into Submission” follows with a blistering opening assault before dropping into a series of bone-shattering mid-tempo grooves, where filthy gutturals and crushing rhythmic shifts create one of the release's heaviest moments.
Closing the record, “As She Took Her Final Breath” begins with guitar-driven melodies before descending into a crushing mid-tempo march. As the track progresses, it erupts into a whirlwind of relentless aggression, eventually closing with unexpected symphonic elements that add a dramatic finish without sacrificing the band's brutal identity.
With their self-titled EP, SHOCK SITE prove that old-school deathcore still has plenty of life left. Raw, uncompromising, and built around crushing grooves rather than modern polish, the El Paso duo deliver a release that pays homage to the genre's formative years while making a strong statement of their own in today's underground scene.
