LOATHE Release Long Anticipated New Album "A Stranger To You" out Today On SharpTone Records – UK Alternative Group’s First Album In Six Years

Today marks the release of one of contemporary heavy music’s most mythologised albums, Loathe’s A Stranger To You. Coming six years after their second album I Let It In And It Took Everything, A Stranger To You arrives in the wake of an album that influenced a wave of bands towards world domination. With today’s release, that influence will be redefined again - with A Stranger To You exhibiting six years of personal and collective growth both within the music and themselves within a magnum opus that spans a breadth of eclectic sounds and techniques.

Easily the most adventurous work of Loathe’s career, A Stranger To You finds the band telling the story of the last six years within 14 staggeringly complex but rewarding beyond all measure cuts of alternative music. Showcasing the full breadth of not only the band’s tastes, but their ever-increasing chemistry, A Stranger To You fuses disparate genres, often within the same track, pushing the boundaries of a style of music that can often feel formulaic. The ascendant soul of ‘Fangs’ and the techno rhythms interspersed within the unforgiving metal of ‘Gemini’ alongside the driving, jazz-infused atmospherics of ‘Harder To Pretend’ and the balmy psychedelia of ‘The Ladder’ may not feel like they have much in common at first glance, but the key through line is Loathe; a band who have taken the time to explore the outer reaches of their artistic ambition, and fully realised it with a fourteen track showcase of just how singular a unit they are. An album designed to ensure that each second without new music from the band has been worth the wait, Loathe has presented an attention to detail within A Stranger To You that will leave the listener uncovering layers of artistic brilliance long after the first play.

A Stranger To You is, in many ways, a rarity in today’s single-driven musical landscape, opting to return to the gold standard of a methodically laid out, interconnected track sequence that provides an experience best consumed from start to finish. That experience is finally open to all; a chance to delve headfirst into the artistic evolution and creative rebirth of Loathe on A Stranger To You, an album that is destined to take its place at the pinnacle of heavy music’s pantheon of generational works.

To celebrate the release of A Stranger To You, Loathe will today headline Liverpool’s Olympia venue alongside support in HERIOT. The band will head to North America, performing at Lollapalooza and Louder Than Life as well as shows with support from All Under Heaven, a pair of performances with Interpol, followed by an extended headline run with support from Fleshwater and Prostitute.
