IF NOT FOR ME Team Up With Wind Walkers for New Single "Lie Awake"

Continuing the rollout for their forthcoming album, Pennsylvania's metalcore outfit If Not For Me have unveiled their newest single, "Lie Awake" featuring Wind Walkers, out today Friday, July 17 via Thriller Records. The accompanying music video you can watch below!

Speaking on the release, vocalist Patrick Glover shares, “'Lie Awake' to me is almost like a spiritual successor to 'Feel Me Now' that takes the story a little deeper. I just love the dynamic of a toxic love that feels good on the surface, but you both know you’re only hurting each other in the end. I think what landed so hard with people in 'Feel Me Now' is the descriptive imagery, so I wanted to play really heavily with that lustful desire in the chorus with lines like ‘feel my hands running down your face’ and ‘did you forget how I made you shake, how I taste’ but then totally contrast it in the back half with ‘does it hurt when you scream my name,’ ‘I’m your pain,’ etc. It just feels like such a relatable story that we’ve all had to go through at one point or another and may even still keep us up at night.”

"Lie Awake" dives into the complicated cycle of a relationship that's impossible to let go of, even when both people know it's doing more harm than good. Torn between desire and heartbreak, the song explores how memories of someone can linger long after they've left, blurring the line between comfort and destruction. It's a reminder that some relationships leave a lasting mark, making it difficult to move forward even when you know it's the only way to heal.

Wind Walkers vocalist Trevor Borg shares, "When the guys in If Not For Me asked me to be part of this song, it felt like a collaboration that had been a long time coming after years of crossing paths through Wind Walkers and working with many of the same people. From recording with the same producer to working with the same videographer, everything felt effortless—they’re not only incredible musicians but also genuine friends. Knowing we’ll be hitting the road together this fall makes this release even more special, and I’m grateful they trusted me to be part of such an incredible song."
