Dizasterpiece is an unapologetic collision of raw emotion, razor-sharp lyricism, and electrifying energy, hailing from New Jersey’s Hardcore underground, a genre-blurring force blending the unrelenting aggression of post-hardcore and nu-metal, with the rhythmic precision of hip-hop. Covered in tattoos and often clad in a vintage hardcore band tee, DIZASTERPIECE aka Justin Ian is a walking embodiment of DIY ethos, treating hip-hop with the same grit and intensity as the punk and metal bands that shaped his musical roots.
Starting out in the early 2010s as an independent rapper, rather than following the traditional hip-hop playbook of dropping endless mixtapes, DIZASTERPIECE forged a different path—writing records, booking shows, and relentlessly touring, eventually forming into a full-time eponymous band. This fearless approach has earned a dedicated following, and led to performances alongside hip-hop legends like IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE, RAKIM, R.A. THE RUGGED MAN, PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH, ILL BILL and CAGE.
Whether igniting a rap showcase or commanding a hardcore stage, DIZASTERPIECE thrives on visceral live energy, proving that genre is merely a suggestion, not a limitation. Despite releasing a few EPS and
singles, DIZASTERPIECE first made waves with Regression Toward The Mean in 2021, the sophomore full-length album that amassed over 3 million Spotify streams and showcased the project’s fearless approach to blending genres and blinding aggression, and beginning the shift from independent rapper, to independent crossover band. That breakthrough moment solidified its presence in the underground scene, proving that a fiercely independent artist could command attention without industry shortcuts.
The 2024 release of ZZONEBOUND, and it's lead single "Nosferatu", took that momentum to new heights, refining their developing sound while expanding its ever-evolving sonic scope.
On stage, DIZASTERPIECE is a force of nature unfiltered, explosive, and utterly captivating. Whether headlining intimate club shows or supporting heavy-hitters like SKARHEAD, THE BUNNY THE BEAR, HED P.E, SILENT THEORY, and A SKYLIT DRIVE, every performance is a high voltage spectacle, leaving audiences exhilarated. Drawing comparisons to acts like GLASSJAW, DEFTONES, and RUN THE JEWELS, Dizasterpiece seamlessly fuse chaotic intensity with calculated melody, offering an immersive listening experience that refuses to be confined to a single sound.
With the uncanny ability to ignite mosh pits as easily as he commands a mic, DIZASTERPIECE stands as a testament to the power of fearless self-expression. With relentless touring, an ever-expanding fan base, and an uncompromising artistic vision, DIZASTERPIECE is proving that music thrives in the spaces between genres. This is more than an artist—it’s a movement fueled by passion, authenticity, and the refusal to conform.
In 2025 Dizasterpiece released their new single titled "Cursed With A Purpose", recorded and co-produced by Fire From The God's drummer Richie Wicander, who co-produced several tracks on the upcoming LP.
