Blending melody, chaos, and emotional weight into something that feels both crushing and immediate, Cascades bring a sound rooted in post-hardcore and metalcore with a sharp sense of identity. Their music pulls from a wide range of influences, but the result is unmistakably their own.
Today, the band shares the single "Spiral." Listen BELOW or here.
The label will release the band's debut LP, A Hatred as Pure and Potent as Sunshine, on September 11. Stay tuned for more details.
Fans of In Flames, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Chiodos, and Dir En Grey will flock to Cascades.
"Cascades are proud to be joining the Roux & Ruin Records family," the band proclaims. "Adrianne and her team have been extremely supportive of our artistic vision and are helping us reach the next level as a band."
Hailing from Columbia, SC, Cascades are a 5-piece metalcore outfit with post-hardcore influences. When you come to a Cascades show, you will experience a few things: high intensity songs with poignant lyrics, crushing breakdowns, and intricate compositions. All this happens and then you get clocked in the face from the raging mosh pit. Regardless of the intensity of the pit, Cascades prides themselves on providing a safe space at shows and online.
Vincent Harris of the Columbia Free Times writes that the most recent Cascades EP, Before the Fall, is like "a closed fist contacting your jawbone at high velocity, but the guy who did it is SUPER sorry." Shortly after this collection of songs was released in August 2025, a heavier, darker track, "A Cornered Fox is More Dangerous Than a Jackal," released just before Christmas.
In the words of singer R.C. Salane, "Scream along."
