Chicagoland, Illinois deathcore outfit TRAUMATIZATION make a devastating statement with their self-titled EP, a five-track barrage of unfiltered aggression and calculated brutality. Rooted in punishing breakdowns, suffocating atmosphere, and relentless vocal delivery, the release cements the band’s presence in the Midwest heavy scene with undeniable force.
The EP opens with “It Won’t Matter…When You Die,” a grim introduction that wastes no time setting the tone. Crushing riffs and pummeling drums create an oppressive soundscape, dragging listeners straight into the band’s bleak and uncompromising world.
On “Affixed On Human Suffering,” TRAUMATIZATION turn up the intensity even further, joined by Joshua Guard of REV3RENT. The collaboration amplifies the track’s venom, delivering layered vocal assaults over bone-snapping rhythms and tightly executed breakdowns.
“Tapestry Of Flesh” continues the descent with visceral lyricism and suffocating heaviness, balancing groove-driven sections with explosive bursts of speed. The band’s ability to shift between punishing slam passages and tightly wound technical moments keeps the momentum unpredictable and crushing.
The EP’s fourth track, “Courage Wasn’t Cowardly,” features Abe Kirkpatrick alongside Mauled, adding another dimension of hostility. The guest appearances inject fresh dynamics into an already volatile track, layering guttural depth over relentless instrumentation.
Closing with “Doomed,” the band leave nothing behind. The final track feels both catastrophic and deliberate, wrapping the EP in a wall of sound that lingers long after the last breakdown fades.
With their self-titled release, TRAUMATIZATION deliver a focused and ferocious collection that highlights their raw power and collaborative spirit. From start to finish, the EP stands as a testament to the band’s dedication to pushing heaviness to its limits while carving out their own identity within the deathcore landscape.
