OZZFEST Is Officially Returning in 2027!

Sharon Osbourne recently confirmed the revival of the iconic heavy metal festival during a panel at the MIDEM 2026 conference in Cannes, France (footage uploaded just days ago). When asked about bringing it back in 2027, she said: “Yes, absolutely. Yeah, we’re gonna do it.”

She explained that the last edition was in 2018 (a one-day event at The Forum in L.A.), right before Ozzy Osbourne fell seriously ill. There were no plans to end it permanently—Ozzy even discussed continuing the festival without him, viewing it as a strong brand that could thrive and give new talent a platform. He reportedly told Sharon, “We should do it,” giving his blessing for it to carry on in his memory (noting Ozzy passed away in 2025).

The official Ozzfest social media accounts (like Instagram) have backed this up with posts and graphics simply stating “Ozzfest Will Return” and teasing the 2027 comeback. Details are still emerging:

It’s likely to return as a touring festival (its classic format), possibly with Live Nation involved in production.

Sharon has mentioned wanting to mix up genres a bit while staying true to its heavy metal/hard rock roots and spirit of supporting emerging acts—like the “summer camp for kids” vibe it always had.

One report points to a potential kickoff as a two-day event at Villa Park (Aston Villa F.C. stadium) in Birmingham, with North American dates to follow.

This marks the first full revival since 2018 after a nine-year hiatus. Fans are already buzzing about potential headliners (Black Sabbath tributes? Modern metal giants? Nu-metal reunions?), and discussions are popping up everywhere.

If you're hyped, keep an eye on the official Ozzfest channels for lineup announcements, dates, and tickets as 2027 approaches. Metal is rising again!
