On February 3rd, 2026, Mediapark in Ljubljana, Slovenia became ground zero for extreme metal as SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL, DYING FETUS, and SUICIDE SILENCE delivered a night of relentless intensity. From the first act to the final encore, the three bands provided a masterclass in heaviness, technical precision, and crowd engagement, leaving fans in complete awe. The sold-out venue was packed with energy, and the audience responded to every note, every riff, and every guttural roar with unbridled ferocity.
SUICIDE SILENCE opened the night in a rare slot, stepping in at the request of SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL. Touring without original guitarist Chris Garza, the band was joined by SOREPTION guitarist Ian Waye, who filled the role flawlessly. Seeing the band for what felt like a fourth time, the performance felt sharper than ever. The set opened with Revelations, moving through Unanswered, Wake Up, Fuck Everything — dedicated to all the exes in the crowd — Love Me to Death, Disengage, You Only Live Once, and closing with No Pity for a Coward. Eddie Hermida’s vocals were in top form, and the crowd responded with instant moshing, circle pits, and walls of death, creating arguably the largest and most intense pits of the night. Hermida commented on the unusual opening slot, saying they were grateful to play with no egos and thrilled to share the stage. The result was a flawless, high-energy 10/10 performance.
DYING FETUS followed, delivering unrelenting brutal death metal force that left a lasting impression even on non-fans. The trio opened with In the Trenches, moving seamlessly through Unbridled Fury, Wrong One to Fuck With, Into the Cesspool, Grotesque Impalement, Kill Your Mother, Rape Your Dog, and closing with Praise the Lord (Opium of the Masses). The pit remained in constant motion, with circle pits and walls of death driving the intensity. Fans across generations, from younger enthusiasts to veteran metalheads, cheered the set’s ferocity and technical precision, making it a brutal but electrifying performance.
The night reached its peak with SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL, whose performance began with a rave-style intro before exploding into Bonebreaker from their second album Kostolom. Violent moshing, wild circle pits, and even crowd surfers dominated the floor. The band delivered new material from Grizzly, including Banditos, Russian Grizzly in America, Viking, Imdead, Babayka, and Koschei, while also returning to Kostolom classics like Bratva — triggering massive walls of death — and Baba Yaga. Drummer Evgeny Novikov’s solo showcased the band’s technical prowess before they finished the set with Conflict, Kid of Darkness, Behelit, and finally demolished the crowd with their signature track Demolisher. The show was a perfect balance of brutality, precision, and crowd interaction, leaving fans exhausted but exhilarated.
From start to finish, Mediapark hosted one of the most intense extreme metal nights Ljubljana has seen, proving why SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL, DYING FETUS, and SUICIDE SILENCE remain leaders in their respective genres. The night was a celebration of technical skill, sheer aggression, and unrelenting energy — a performance fans will remember for years.
