VEIL OF MAYA Vocalist Lukas Magyar Shares Statement Confirming His Departure

Lukas Magyar has officially confirmed his departure from VEIL OF MAYA, releasing a personal statement reflecting on his decade-long journey with the band. In his words, the decision marks the end of an era that profoundly shaped both his life and career, while also opening the door to new creative paths.

Magyar described the last ten years as an “incredible decade long journey,” expressing deep gratitude for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships formed during his time with VEIL OF MAYA. He noted that multiple factors led to his decision to step away, emphasizing the need to move forward both personally and creatively after a long period of reflection.

Over the past year, Lukas has been focusing on his project SIFYN, where he has been releasing music and rediscovering his creative spark in the studio. He also revealed an upcoming collaboration with renowned producer Joey Sturgis, calling it an honor to work alongside figures who helped shape modern metal and rock. According to Magyar, even more new material and projects are planned for 2026.

He closed his statement with gratitude and respect, thanking the fans for their unwavering support and acknowledging VEIL OF MAYA and Sumerian Records for everything they shared over the years. As you may recall, VEIL OF MAYA announced their decision to go into a hiatus back in September 2024, making this announcement a significant moment of transition for both the band and its longtime vocalist.

Here is the full statement:

"Yes, it is true that I have left Veil of Maya. First thing's first, what an incredible decade long journey it has been. I am forever grateful for the opportunity and experience. In many ways, the last ten years have reshaped my life. There were several factors that led to me ultimately stepping away from VoM, and I had to make a decision that would allow me to move forward, both personally and creatively.

"Over the last year, I've been focused on SIFYN, releasing music and rediscovering that spark in the studio. It's been a real turning point for me, allowing me to reconnect with what drives me creatively and to approach music with a fresh perspective. Working on SIFYN has truly brought back a sense of excitement that I'd been missing.

"I'm also thrilled to be a part of a new collaboration with Joey Sturgis that's coming soon. It's been an honor to work alongside industry veterans who helped shape so many influential artists within the Metal and Rock world. There's a lot more on the way for 2026 that I'm excited to share with all of you.

"I have nothing but love and respect for everyone who I've met and worked with along the way. I want to say thank you to the fans for their continued support, and to Veil of Maya and Sumerian Records for everything over the years."
