French brutal death metal duo CRYPTIC PROCESS return with GULPS, a savage EP that distills technical extremity and raw aggression into a tightly controlled burst of violence. Comprised of Ugo (guitars, bass, programming) and Dam (vocals), the project was born in 2020 from members of past acts including Goryptic, Heresy, Trepan’Dead, and Unsu, uniting under a shared vision of uncompromising brutality.
Drawing influence from the likes of Goratory, Necrophagist, Cryptopsy, Dying Fetus, and Infant Annihilator, GULPS delivers precision-driven riffs, inhuman vocal savagery, and relentless pacing. Tracks such as “Cryptalepsy”, “Slurping the Sludge”, and the title cut “Gulps” hit with surgical efficiency, balancing technical sharpness with suffocating heaviness.
One of the EP’s standout moments, “Fashion Gruiiik”, clocks in at just over a minute, but wastes none of it. Fast, sharp, and violently to the point, the track explodes with frantic energy, acting as a brief yet lethal spike in the EP’s overall assault before plunging back into deeper brutality.
