First, the bad news. ALIEN WEAPONRY and PENTAGRAM have officially shelved their European tour plans for summer 2026 and will therefore not perform at ALCATRAZ next year. The festival has now confirmed their replacements, welcoming Dutch pagan metal force HEIDEVOLK and US occult rock pioneers COVEN to the 2026 lineup, alongside the newly added DEATH tribute band LEFT TO DIE from the United States.
With these additions, ALCATRAZ 2026 continues to take shape as a massive gathering of international heavyweights and homegrown talent. Once again, the festival flies the black, yellow, and red with pride, as roughly 20% of the total lineup will consist of Belgian bands. In total, more than 120 acts are set to perform in Kortrijk next August, including 26 bands from Belgium.
Each Belgian act will be announced individually in the coming months, standing shoulder to shoulder with the festival’s international roster. Excluding the winner of the Rock Tribune Bash, no fewer than 24 Belgian bands are already confirmed for 2026, with half of them making their ALCATRAZ debut. The festival continues to highlight the depth and quality of Belgium’s heavy music scene, bringing those logos together on one bill once again.
The Rock Tribune Bash also returns in full force. Belgian bands can register between December 23 and January 3 via
www.alcatraz.be/en/bash.
A professional Rock Tribune jury will select 20 acts to advance to five semifinals, taking place between February and April 2026 across Kortrijk, Zwalm, Antwerp, Brussels, and Bilzen. The final will be held on May 1 in Diest, with a coveted slot on the La Morgue stage up for grabs. Meanwhile, with the Belgian government announcing a VAT increase on festival and concert tickets from 6% to 12%, fans are advised to secure tickets early. Camping ticket prices will remain unchanged, even if the increase comes into effect.
