After the tumultuous 2023 Society 1 tour which also served as the backdrop to the bands recently released documentary "Everyone Dies (Rock Stars Don't Count) they found themselves without a drummer. According to lead vocalist Matt Zane the backlash from the tour and the movie proved to be too difficult to navigate for the former member.
After the documentary reached #1 on Thunderflix.com for two months Zane was offered a book deal by Alex Milazzo of Heavy Music Artwork. With the upcoming release of the book a promotional party and show was booked for Sept 11th at threeclubs.com in Los Angeles. In need of a new drummer the band have decided to welcome Jon Asher into the fold.
"The first time I saw Society 1 was their new documentary release and I was blown away by the raw energy and emotion that was presented on stage. I’ve always wanted to be a part of something that made the audience feel a certain way and remember it forever. As far as I'm concerned f*ck the gatekeepers and f*ck cancel culture. I'm ready for this." - Jon Asher
